On ubuntu noble the cdsitepackages/lssitepackages commands fail with the
following error:
$ cdsitepackages

The cause is the removal of distutils from python 3.12

active. The post install script uses the python version from the callers
environment instead of the system version for which ubuntu-advantage-

I am having the same problems with Ubuntu 19.04, a KDE plasma desktop
and linux-image-5.0.0-3*-generic. I switched to linux-image-
unsigned-5.4.0-050400rc3-generic 13 days ago and haven't had any freezes
so far.

I experience this same behaviour using lightdm + KDE plasma.
I've also tested lightdm + unity which did not trigger this behaviour.
This install uses local passwd/shadow/group files.
Both tests were after a fresh boot.
