Ran the daily linux-alsa-driver-modules build on 10/14/2010 as below
still no sound.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)

Thanks, I tried the HDMI output but didn't help.
I only get one choice under 'choose a device to configure'
Which is 'internal audio/1 output/digital stereo (hdmi) output'
Should get something listed other than that?
