I've upgraded the system, but problem persists. With Tahoma font files

I think it has to do with some part of the X server, but I do not know
which part, therefore I do not know, where to file this bug.

A friend of mine looked at the traces and proposed to move away the
Tahoma font files. I did so and now thunderbird does not crash any
more.
I "installed" this font files, i. e. I copied them to
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/:
~$ sudo ls -l /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/[Tt][
I finally build apport_0.28 (apport from etchy) on this Ubuntu 06.06 LTS
from source, manualy resolving several build-dependencies, installed it,
forced preloading of libapport.so, run sudo rm -rf /home/grfz/.mozilla-
thunderbird/; mozilla-thunderbird and produced a crash report which I
now will tr

I again. This bug msut have to do with some other (upgraded)
package since downgrading to mozilla-tunderbird version 1.5.9
did not resolve the problem.
I tried to start thunderbird as root:
"sudo mozilla-tunderbird"
then it did *not* crash. All files/directories in and under
~/.mozilla-tunderb
would a strace or ltrace output help? I do not know how to enable core
dump, if this would help please instruct me...

I followed the steps outlined in section "Prior Ubuntu versions" in
DebuggingProgramCrash. But there is no mozilla-thunderbird-dbgsym
package. Thunderbird now behaves as before and there is no /var/crash
nor a core dump or something.
