I have been unable to mount the card in Ubuntu 11.10. When I plug it into my

This is happening on a regular basis.
I close my laptop's lid which causes it to go to suspend (according to
the indicator on the laptop it was successful). When I open the lid the
screen stays completely black except for my mouse.

If Update-Manager does an update which will cause etckeeper to do a commit,
Update-Manager says that there was a Package Operation Fail. etckeeper works
fine if I run an update from the command line (since bzr whoami is set)

On the suggestion of Sarvatt in #ubuntu-x I installed the ~ubuntu-x-swat
PPA and upgraded the xserver-xorg-video-intel package to
2:2.13.901-2ubuntu2~xup~maverick . He thought this bug was most likely
bug 626967.
It *may* be that bug, but, after restarting and hooking up a second
monitor my video
