another issue
Will, that probably explains why your fix works. As I don't know the
logic in starting the interfaces, it may be possible that lo is
sometimes not the first to start and that caused your issue. Hopefully,
my description may allow others to determine where their problem is at.
Also, I do have a not
Will Brooks,
I had assumed that "net-device-up" conditioned on only the first, which would
likely be "lo". But, perhaps not. I'll try that IFACE=lo. The following
explains my reasoning.
Could you tell me your bind for mysqld in /etc/mysql/my.cnf, from the
four options below? There are some sligh

many people are effected by this, if mysqld must be bound to an interface other
than "lo". Most of the problems appear to results from a timing issue, where

Or, maybe not...
My notes indicated past issues, so I removed the gnu java and replaced it with
Sun java (which I had been using before, but forgot). Eclipse then worked much
faster. I WAS able to install the CDT from an archive and it appears to be
working.
However, I'm seeing more (possibly)
Well, after several hours I'm giving up for now. I have eclipse 3.5.1
working with the latest CDT in Ubuntu Hardy, so that combination itself
does work. That's been working for months with no problems. However,
Kamic is another story. I think the CDT has been pulled from the distro
at one point. I
As of Ubuntu Hardy 2-6-24-24, the problem remains. the --no--sparse let
it go further, but it still hung. Replaced with the debian package as
noted above and all works fine.
