Hey thanks for that, it's been bugging me for weeks.
Funny thing is the firefox-dom-inspector package creates the directory
/usr/lib/firefox/extensions/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
An alternative fix is to create a file called
/usr/lib/firefox/extensions/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
that contains the line:
/usr/share/
Public bug reported:
Since upgrading to Edgy (from Dapper), I cannot use the DOM inspector.
The package is installed (as it was in Dapper) but the DOM inspector option

names as specified in iftab.
Using daily-updated edgy on Dell Latitude D600.

Thanks

Well, guys, I don't know what to say.
I now have a fully working, up-to-date system.
I took the following steps (as well as the ones mentioned above):
Removed xserver-xorg-driver-all and xserver-xorg-driver-i810 (and a lot of
other drivers).
Upgraded xserver-xorg-core to latest.

At some point before the final Dapper release my setup broke.
Symptoms were:
CPU soft lockups (sometimes mentioned tg3, so I disabled my NIC in BIOS)
