The bcmwl driver is an out-of-tree driver with binary blob. So this is
not an upstream driver, which is what linux-wireless is about. Now the
error message seems clear to me and it means that in the new 3.17-rc2
kernel alloc_netdev interface changed. So you could try fixing

Yeah it did. when i boot with regular 14.04 kernel the wireless is
working fine but then I cant use the thunderbolt display. dont know
about 3.14-3.15

Im trying out new kernels to get monitor via thunderbolt and i noticed
that the wireless stoped working for me. I have tried two 3.16.* kernels
and the latest 3.17 rc2 with the same result.
ERROR LOG:

Tried http://people.canonical.com/~jsalisbury/lp1146988 and it didn't
work for me, but got me further then before. This time I got a mouse
with a blackscreen and i could switch to tty1 and login something that i
couldn't do with 3.8.0.10
