Same behaviour here. It happens after I closing the lid for a while (not
every time, but often enough that it is very annoying).
I am running Ubuntu 7.10 on a macbook with the default X.org file. I'll
attach the X.org file.

I'm having this problem on a G4 PowerMac (QuickSilver).
Scott, can you provide some minimal instructions? Something like the
kernel config file would be great.
