bug still happens... i'm trying to reinstall and keep my home folder and
it crashes if i try to use the same username as my old install. Using a
different username fixes it.

I've had this bug happen at random, but haven't found a way to replicate

Confirmed.
Having Facebook on the active tab makes CPU use for firefox and Xorg
spike, using a a combined 70-80% of one core on a Core 2 Duo T5500.
Moving to another tab makes both processes return to normal.
The high CPU usage does not seem to come with a related memory leak.

Confirmed, happens to me too, using Intrepid Beta upgraded from an up to
date Hardy.

Using an up to date Intrepid i still have this bug as of september 26.
Currently installed is networkmanager is 0.7
svn20080908t183521+eni0-0ubuntu4. About an hour after a reboot Network
Manager is already eating 1.6gb of memory, and constantly using about
38% of my CPU (Athlon 64 x2 3800+)
