I'm getting this with my E220 and "A1" - Telekom Austria. So its not just
"Three"
This happens with Karmic, when trying 5-10 times, the DNS Adresses happen to be
there once or twice, but normally I can't get them. This is a problem I had
permanently from Intrepid. (When I started using this E220

on Amilo Si1520 it helps to downgrade the BIOS to 1.10 (if you don't have a
Yonah D0 CPU)
but there should be other solutions - till now, nothing helped for me :(

A, I don't use resume normally, but had to set up the same machine
for a friend, so there came up this problem with Karmic x64
I didn't try to downgrade the BIOS yet. Hope, there is another solution!
Short: This is still a problem with 9.10!

I tried a Huawei E270 which works with the new kernel, after that, I
disconnected and connected my E220 which gave the output ( in
/var/log/messages) I posted before.

nope, it doesn't work then, had to rmmod usb-serial about 20 times and
plug/unplug the device too :(

Hi.
I tried with my wifes E270 right now, and this works like a charm. Can
anybody try this and give feedback?
E270 and E220 are normally known as the same modem/hardware, they look
different, but seem to be the same - so it's a bit strange, that they
behave different in this case.
After switchi
product=0x1003
and sometimes sudo rmmod usb-storage again. After that, it works. Not
always, but for me, it worked after a few trys.
As they guess in the other bug-report, this is not a duplicate.

lug in a optical mouse, and there the optical
mouse entry comes in. Plugging it in/out removes/brings back the entry,
so it would be a fix to remove the touchpad ;) SCNR

Just to be correct, I didn't know how to use launchpad before, I guess

I never had this crash again, so it should be solved in 9.04 and 9.10

hmm, I thought "released" means, that it is in the kernel now, but a todays
daily-build doesn't work either - its not just the 169,
- I guess, nearly every huawei, if not all are affected - I use a 220 and a
270, both don't work right now.

sorry for my late reply, but here it comes. I'd like to confirm this bug in
Dapper Drake.
Same machine, a FSC Amilo Xi1526.
Furthermore I guess because of the problem with the switched controls the
volume wheel doesn't work.
