Thank you Scott. I can confirm that your fix solves the recovery console issues on my machine, it now functions as expected. However, the tty1 mountall maintenance issue persists. Log into tty1, execute vim, press ESC and I'm greeted with the mountall maintenance menu and a root prompt. -- mount
