Tried installing again with the same partitioning scheme, only now I
used ext3 instead of ReiserFS. It worked fine.

Just had that crush when trying to install Interpid. I created a 8GB
ReiserFS (/dev/sdb1) on my second HD for / partition, a 20GB ReiserFS
(/dev/hdb2) for /home and directed bootloader to install on /dev/sdb1.
I didn't have a problem installing Hardy using same partitioning except
that I used ext3
Similar here - Hardy on vmware machine. When pressing Quit it can take a
minute or so until the quit dialog appears, meanwhile everything is
stuck. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace kills Gnome immediately and returns
to the logon screen. It looks random, couldn't recreate it, but happenes
at least 50% o
