Hi, I have the same issue, I'm using an Nvidia card. It happens in both Natty
and Oneiric.
Disabling OpenGL > Sync to VBlank in CCSM makes the videos tearing.
The launcher tearing doesn't happen in Ubuntu-2d.

#21 makes a lot of sense. Just allow the users to make the dash home a button
or an icon.
I also liked the fact that at mouse over the BFB, the launcher would appear
gradually. The TopLeft "Reveal Mode" in "ubuntu unity plugin" is now very hard
to use.

A temporary fix that works for me is to right-click the panel and click
Properties, then select and deselect "Show hide buttons"

happening.
If you have a TV and you use a "separate X screen", run ccsm on that screen and
make the changes there.
