network-manager tries to connect to WLAN even if already connected to a LAN
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148617
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
I have two dynamically configured networks at home: one wired one
wireless. When booting up network manager connects to the WLAN even if
my computer is plugged in to the LAN thus needlessly prompting my for my

I can confirm that setting /FrontEnd/X11/Dynamic to true fixes the
problem for me too. However, this workaround is sub-optimal for me
because it breaks dead keys (as already noted in bug #66104) :-(
Well at least, I now have the possibility to enter all kinds of text

I'm seeing what looks like the same bug in gutsy. Once I right-click on
a file and the filename entry opens, most of the time nautilus accepts
no more key strokes whatsoever. Left cursor doesn't work, CTRL-space
doesn't nor do any of the normal keys.
The issue feels like some kind of race conditio
Sorry, I hadn't discovered the way to close the bug... Closing as

Guilty as charged, sir. ;-)
Everything works perfectly now. Thanks a lot for your help!
Actually, what I had done was just turn on "complex character support"
in gnome-language-selector. Maybe this should take care that the current
locale is added to scim.conf

Actually, the whole thing turns out to be a consequence of my problems
with scim (see bug #131674). If I activate scim, dead keys stop to work
even with the new version of xorg. Once I deactivate scim, dead keys
work as expected.

Binary package hint: scim
Since upgrading to gutsy, I'm unable to start scim.
Although it reports success like this, I later see that scim itself has
turned into a zombie.
I don't think this is another dupe of bug #87347 as I have no crash
reports anywhere.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
Since updating to gutsy my dead keys stopped working in X (in the
console they are fine). This is on the latest xorg in gutsy
7.2-5ubuntu3. The keys just come out not-dead (undead ;)
~$ xprop -root | grep XKB

The problem has been identified, a fix is freely available. Is there any
reason why this package has not yet been updated (other than a lack of
time)? Are there any steps we can take to make sure the package gets
updated in time for Gutsy?

unfortunately I have no way to know the BIOS's idea of my CPU's

This is appearently a misconfiguration on my part. I've downloaded a

On the other hand, on my hard-drive installation this bug persists even
after deleting $HOME/.openoffice.org2 *sigh*
