when upgrading to -49 or -50
Additionally, with -50 I can't login (Ubuntu 20.04): cursor appears fine
but login screen (e.g., logo, username, password box) does not appear.
However I can still open non-graphical consoles (e.g.

...and if I remove "nomodeset" in GRUB (necessary for install and then
fixed in GRUB, I was unaware) then nouveau driver hangs awfullly!
I can then install nvidia-331 and get to use intel on-board after sudo
prime-select intel
But still I can't get a desktop with nvidia driver

Had tried nvidia-346 from xorg-edgers and it's the same thing... (no
desktop after login in my case; have tried nvidia-331 and
nvidia-331-updates). With nouveau drivers I get to the desktop (though I
can't change resolution to wide-screen)

Solved with new kernel 3.2.0-72 update!
Now it's working again (or so it seems…)

Sorry, newbie here just trying to help. You may have to guide me much

I did have try already to run picasa from the command line to see some
sort of error, though nothing appears there. In fact, it closes after a
while (splash screen appears ok) wi
