The same bug is now present on a completely different DELL model (from
2013), running Linux Mint 22 (cinnamon). This started happening after
the latest kernel update to 6.8-48 a couple of days ago. I believe Mint
is using the same kernels as in 24.04 LTS. If that's so, could it be

Since the upgrade, I'm also getting these error messages on the screen
right before gnome wakes up from sleep.

Since upgrading from 24.04 to 24.10, when the laptop wakes up from
sleep, it doesn't ask me for a password to login. It just gets me to the

happens on gnome, not on cinnamon or xfce that i also have installed.
