I lost all my printers trying the fix in comment 29. Comment 44 didn't
have any effect.
Though I only restarted cups with: "sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart"

This is on a 9.10 x86_64 system that I upgraded using the alternate CD
from Hardy x86_64.
I attempted a forced upgrade of libmp3lame0, but it failed with the
following information.
Unpacking libmp3lame0 (from .../libmp3lame0_3.98.2+debian-0
