I recently ran into this problem with an unencrypted DVD as well. I
simply did:
aptitude install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
Which solved the problem. There was no need to uninstall any other
plugins, just install the ugly plugins. This is more a problem with the
plugin detection IMO than it is

This bug has re-emerged in Ubuntu 9.10 and constantly complains about
the intrapositioned statement vs. extrapositioned statement. While this
should be more of a wishlist bug, it does affect a lot of security
tutorials and security advice given by people like me who use
Intrapositioned statements.
Take the complaint to OpenOffice. This is after all, their source...

This is a problem with Ubuntu, I have confirmed it across several models
of keyboards. I have to toggle several times and beat up the keyboard
to get it to work correctly. There is an issue with the mapping perhaps
or something more, I have not had time to fully look into it myself but

Since I don't see the link to the duplicate bug anywhere I'm going to
post the simple fix here which happens to be: sudo aptitude remove
nautilus-share. The fact also remains that this should have been fixed
