I can't replicate the "ubuntu dock" issue which is visible on the
screenshot attached. Only top bar is easily replicable.

So mutter (and gir*-mutter) from proposed work for me. No more alt tab
issue. There is one small issue left tho - when you use volume control
for a few moments (2s maybe?) the top bar is visible like so

Have the same issue.
Also using Ubuntu 17.10 with nvidia 384.90 driver.
Happens for me in Day of Infamy and Insurgency. I need to go to video
settings and set to windowed or borderless and back to fullscreen in
order to play the game in full screen again. Or just quit and relaunch
it.

A workaround to this issue is to open up /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice
and add
export GTK_THEME=Radiance
line.

Until today i didn't use LibreOffice on Ubuntu 16.04. I opened it today
and i see menu/icon bar totally unusable with Ambiance theme and default
Breeze style. (image attached)
The version installed is 5.1.2-0ubuntu1.
