Found this problem installing 14.04-2 server from USB stick created with
Startup Disk Creator. Installer mounts /dev/sdxn (the USB stick
partition, in my case /dev/sdc1) to /media but the installer looks for
it at /cdrom. Above solution to remount at /cdrom worked for me too. H/W
is an ASRock C2550
I don't know if there is any impact on my usage; the error messages are
too cryptic for me to know or imply where to look for resulting
problems. I have no other similar machine, let alone without the errors,
with which to make any comparison. Thus I am not in a position to make
any specific observ

Recently performed fresh-install of 13.04, syslog report of ACPI lookup
error remains but has changed. BIOS not updated from 908.

Works for me, but... the KVM guest window hangs after shutting down the
guest.

Grub menu, Ubuntu, and Win7 startups are normal.
I didn't note in the previous post that running dpkg-reconfigure
--frontend=gnome grub-pc did not change the output of debconf-show grub-
pc. So, this looks like a mis-directed attempt by the package upgrade
process to install Grub in the non-bootab
Similar happened to me upon update manager upgrade to grub -pc
1.99-21ubuntu3.4. The "COnfigure Grub Devices" dialog offered choices of
/dev/sda and /dev/sda6. Selecting both of these, the Details display of
update manager showed
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot stat '/,'
I deselected /dev/sda
gsettings-data-convert crash also occurs again if choosing "Leave
closed" from the bug dialog popup, and then later restarting Shotwell
(w/o a new login). Counter-intuitive since choosing "Relaunch" for
gsettings-data-convert and then restarting Shotwell does not crash

package colord 0.1.16-2 failed to install/upgr
Seems to be fixed after installing updates of 06-12-2012 including
network-manager:i386 (0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4, 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.1). However,
the fix could have appeared in the 06-15-2012 update that included
linux-image-3.2.0-25-generic:i386 (3.2.0-25.40). Didn't notice exactly
with which update it be
SIGKILL to nm-applet's pid followed by starting nm-applet again brings
it up with the full set of drop-down menu items.

Yes, crashes back to login prompt as stated in the second-above post for
a second machine, and the Xorg crash occurs on both o fmy machines. Bug
# 660833 is a duplicate -- the originator posted about this in ubuntu
forums as well. Definitely treat these as the same bug.
