i was very excited to add this and that is why i posted sort of half baked
solution hoping that you can figure out the rest.
to be fair I have to add the complete (working oob solution) rather than just
variable evaluation.
1) the existing mount point needs to be disconnected. because it is

dick - without graphics nothing will kick in:
1) add $HOME/bin to PATH (/etc/environment)
2) make script bazbaz.sh and make it executable

It is still a minor nuisance (bug) in 10.4 that has not been fixed yet. I've
been keeping the desktop icons aligned until now. To tell you the truth
there is no need to reboot and if I log out of session and log back in the
desktop settings remain intact. So far I have not applied suggested

One of the reason why Seahorse could be hammering your CPU is because
hardware random number generator tools are not running. The other day I
noticed increase in CPU utilization and then noticed that rng-tools are

I enabled HTML5Tube extension and browsed to Youtube to play the video.
Only player frame appeared but there was no playback.

it's not entirely right. my Dell D505 works like a champ ( with compiz,
emerald). the workaround is to add i915 to boot configuration.
this probably loads proper kernel module. beyond that i did not have time
between now and then to hook it up to the debugger so there is generic
version running on

toggle desktop icon alignment switch back to auto alignment. Right

This bug is affecting me as well on 10.4 Lucid Lynx LTS. Right click on
the desktop to switch icon alignment off and gconf-editor to toggle the
icon alignment do not work. Gconf-editor says 'nautilus-icon-view-keep-

schema.

The point is, that there should not be VPN tab if none of VPN plugins are
installed.
Or it should suggest to download one (like with codecs).
Anyway, having VPN plugins on CD is not enough, you should also have
network_manager_pptp (whatever it is) installed.

I just tried 8.10 in VirtualBox and VPN tabs have these buttons
disabled. Damn, I thought this would be the first Ubuntu version that i
could recommend my users, whithout "oh and you just need to download
pptp and network_manager_pptp before you could configure vpn
connection". Oh well :`(
