I'm experiencing the same bug on KDM 4.6.5. I created a new user and

I should mention, that I start a new session through KDE's KMenu after
being logged in as another user.
Cheers!

This bug affects me too, but with certain DVD discs only.
Happens on Kubuntu 10.04 kernel 2.6.32-28.
Note: The DVD doesn't appear in the device notification applet, so I
have to mount it manually through console. It takes ~30 seconds to mount
it.

Unfortunately the bug is not gone at all. Using KTorrent (Version 3.1.2
Using KDE 4.1.2) to download small files of the contents still messes up

The KDE 4 version is ok! I deleted the messed up files, and KTorrent

Unfortunately this happens with a 3com 3c905 card and after a unpredicted
period of time :(
I compiled a new kernel - 2.6.22.9 and I'm leaving the computer on for a long
time to see if it will drop the network again, but so far it hadn't :)
