I am running Natty and it seems to be fixed there. I see a progress bar
and can easily spot the signal strength with a quick glance.

I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.04 and the problem has disappeared.
I have been using it for about 2 days and have not noticed the problem
at all.

into the current release.
Thanks for the effort! Much appreciated. Trying to squeeze every bit of
battery life out of this x301.

I just updated to KDE 4.6 in Kubuntu 10.10 and see this same problem. It
was also there before I upgraded but now it affects the terminal as well
where as before it never did, I always noticed it in the browser.

again.

problem on the laptop speakers. If I attach headphones the sound is

As I said in my previous quote, its a WORKAROUND, just like using

selected that theme.
I have attached a zip of what I have on my computer.

I think a better workaround than QtCurve is OxyGnome. Install that theme
for Gnome and you will notice that KDE can still use the Oxygen theme
and Gnome apps look very similar.

would help resolve the issue faster, I will find a way to do it.
