I have this same problems for years with the same LCD monitor using
different releases of ubuntu and different computers. The monitor is

Would it be too hard to re-implement that feature ("Record from input")
back? It was so nice to have it right there and it was very handy.

Okay. I just noticed that "PulseAudio Volume Control" did not install
after upgrade from 8.04 to 9.04. I'm now able to record from different
input streams once again, although it takes a lot of hoop-jumping. We
could easily set it from the dropdown menu from the application being

Would some one please point me the fix of this issue (only "capture"
available in sound recorder)? I've spent many hours looking for it. BTW,
It used to work fine on 7.10, but almost all the other options vanished
after upgrade to 9.04. Any help or link would be highly appreciated.

Bump. I confirm this bug. I've upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 and now firefox
2.0.08 and mozilla freezes randomly when viewing flash movies (mainly in
youtube). I've installed ddd and ran firefox -safe-mode -d... I noticed
that hitting break and lookup twice in a row causes firefox to unfreeze!
