Wine developers on all places seem to say that winepulse is not needed
and that alsa plugin works fine. No, it doesn't work properly. I have a
problem with crackling sounds since I started to use pulseaudio (since
Ubuntu 13.04 to 14.10 currently). And it's not a problem with

@Stefan
Crackling sounds occurs in every game which I played under Wine. Of course not
always. For example: Sims 3, Luxor 1, 2, 3, 4, Croc 2, Fifa 12, Bejeweled 2. I
noticed that actually sounds are still playing, but much faster than they
should.

Just a quick note to my previous comments #74 and #76 - I did NOT
install any updates from xorg-edgers or anything like that. The only
thing I did was dist-upgrade to gnome3-team's staging PPA as per step-
by-step instructions in this article: http://www.webupd8.org/2014/10
/how-to-install-gnome-31
Here's the screencast demonstrating how the desktop performed BEFORE
gnome3-team staging PPA upgrade:

and AFTER such upgrade:

I have just gave a shot with gnome3-team's staging PPA. Upgraded,
rebooted and my desktop seems perfectly smooth as butter again. I have
actually forgot already how the desktop is *supposed* to work - it's
THAT good compared to Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 + gnome3-team stable PPA
installation.

I've got same card as your Samsung and got sluggish performance, so this
seems irrelevant.

Ok, I manage to repair it by myself.

Thx Christoph Keller, now it's working just fine :). Can you find
solution also for the icons error (not showing up in \Dropbox\ folders)?

My understanding is that the problem doesn't necessarily lie in Intel
graphics driver, if that would be the case, sluggish performance would
affect desktop as a whole, regardless of applications currently running.
At the moment, my 14.10 Gnome desktop is perfectly smooth until I launch

It is not a duplicate of bug #1096837 - it happens in Thunar while
coping to USB sticks, external (FAT/NTFS) drives or NFS mounts.

downside of this error is that is you are moving files, it causes the
