Rui Could you please fix my DSDT vaio vpcw120al, it detects de Lid state
correct , open and close but at boot it always state close so if I unplug power
cord it goes to sleep unless y intensionally close and open the lid before I
unplug the cord then it works correctly , so apparently at boot do

Someplace I found a work around for this issue by adding this line

to my /etc/pm/power.d/savepower.sh that will update dbus & hal state of the ac
adapter I think!

last week I downloaded and tested Jaunty alpha2 and my first problem I detected

Today after renting a dvd movie had similar issue as this bugs refers to ,
playing dvd movie with any player my cpu goes really high , playing the movie
looks as if I am playing the movie in slow motion, reading the files

Same issue in intrepid 8.10 although if I make the copy with brasero to
a iso image and then use nautilus-cd-burner application to burn de
resulting iso to the DVD it works that way and no errors. That is with a
DVD movie to a DVD double layer.

I have the same problem before upgrading to intrepid y solved using
xtknight PPA repository , but now in intrepid went back with the same
problem . Is it that developers from gstreamer did not apply the patch
cause I try debian stable en experimental alsa did have the same issue.

acpi in your /boot/grub/menu.lst look for the kernel line and put at
the acpi=off

Tim you are right , I also found that if I close the laptop activating
the lid close feature /etc/acpi/lid.sh reproduce the same bug, and the
sensor applet I had it was the one from the ACPI CPU Temp, So It is more
something related with acpi and the USB module hci_usb.

I use the same as you do , Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX (USB) and the same
module snd_usb_audio.
I have installed the CPU governor POWERNOWD and on AC I have setup for
performance and on battery on demand, and in booth modes still have the bug.

Troubleshooting the problem I found that if login as root in gnome I can
play music using the same setup as my user account (default soundcard
pulseaudio, etc) and problem goes away. but I do not think the solution
will be to run pulseaudio as root because them in my user account I cant
get sound n
