Modifying these files doesn't seem like a very good solution. The XFCE4
preferences infrastructure settings set by the user still are not
respected.
If I want to switch back to Firefox (or some other browser)
The fix works well for me. It starts properly on commencement of a new
session. Thanks!

This problem is a result of /var/run/distmp3 not being created at
runtime as noted in this upstream report: http://lintian.debian.org/tags

This issue is many releases old. Can we just submit a non-maintainer
fix for this to get distmp3 functional again?
