Just wanted to confirm this in a COMPAQ F754LA laptop with Ubuntu 8.04.1
fresh installation.
I always had this problem (random action at right click in link), no
matter if I use the synaptics touchpad or an external usb mouse.
It seems to me that the ctrl, shift and alt keys are randomly pressed
