I am not seeing the wlan failure under 4.2-rc7. However, I am now
experiencing complete lockups of the system (2-3 seconds in duration)
followed by a hardware reset. /var/log/messages doesn't show anything
preceding the kernel start on reboot.
I did not see the lockup issue with v4.0-vivid, (but
I've finally had the opportunity to install a new kernel. I installed
4.2-rc7. Were you looking for 4.2-rc6 specifically or just a newer
kernel?

I had rolled back to an ubuntu kernel to get the nVidia driver
(suspend/resume issues with nouveau) . I'm now in the process of
installing the newest mainline you recommended to Edward. If I can
reproduce under 4.2-rc4, I'll submit a new bug and subscribe you to it.

On a Toshiba Protege M700, I did not have the issue with 11.04 amd64.
After the upgrade to 11.10, my touchpad stops working shortly after
login. Performed fresh install of 11.10 amd64 and issue persisted.
Unchecking "disable touchpad while typing", as suggested in this bug,
keeps my touchpad fun
Upgraded to 11.10. Content of error message changed to "Connection
Timed Out". Second attempt still succeeds.
