This is happening for me on a macbook. It seems it has a wrong idea
about the maximum brightness so it wraps around? As I dim the screen I
get brightest-darkest-secondbrightest-seconddarkest- etc., or something
close to that anyway.

I am getting a crash on a particular mp3 consistently, it appears there
are a couple of mp3's in my Beatles collection that do this.
The crash is instantaneous upon pressing 'scan'.

haha, I had no idea you could right click it. ... ok, but it doesn't
seem to completely turn off my wireless card, my reasoning here being
that if I suspend-to-ram my wireless gets confused (won't work without
restart), and this still occurs if I uncheck 'enable wireless'
beforehand and then reenab

poster.

My problem is similar but intermittent. The first two times I tried this
the whole system froze. I first recorded something as speex in sound
recorder, then saved it and played it, system crash. I then recorded
something as ogg, played it back successfully in sound recorder, then
