I've just got the same problem on my Feisty install on my laptop. But
I'm pretty certain I didn't have to do the chgrp on other Feisty or Edgy
installs I've done recently, which is strange.

Exact same issue for me on a Dell Inspiron 9300. The fan spins up after
something moderately intensive (like opening a busy website), and then
never spins down again until a reboot or a hibernate-resume cycle.
Like the others, this issue started after installing feisty. Never had
it before with ed
