32bit 11.04. A Chrome release caused Chrome to start blocking for some
20s on each link/bookmark I navigated. I checked some forums and tried

I usually test a suspend to disk after every new ubuntu release. In Jaunty
Jackalope 9.04 beta i tries as usual, and at first it seemed to be the old
result. After wakeup I got the color arts in the upper screen corner. I went
away for a while and heard a beep from the other room. And when I got

Yesterday morning suspend to ram worked fine.
I did some updates and installed a few packages (see below) and restarted. Now
suspend doesn't suspends. I left click power manager tray icon and select
suspend, the screen saver starts as usual, but after a few seconds starts a

when I connect to a server using ssh (sftp), the remote file list
displays wrong names in the Owner and Group column. It seems to display

display) I just installed restricted nvidia driver and then uninstalled
it, both using the System>Administration>Hardware Drivers dialog.
To fox the other problem: to get picture on both internal and external

Ok, the trick in bug #220563 made it possible to get signal on both
internal and external display, so thats fine now.
But the original problem was that screen resultion dialog didn't work at all in
my newly installed 8.04.
But we should be able to reproduce that problem before taking my report to
.xsession_errors after
- booting
- connecting TV
- opening nvidia x server settings
- clicking detect displays
- select display and selecting twinview
- checking resolution choices (that are 640x480 and 320x200)

News: it works now. The issue described above was just after installing 8.04.
After having the problem above, I enabled the nvidia restricted driver.
Then when you asked about driver and log, I disabled the restricted driver
again and tried this, and now it just worked.

A new problem with Ubuntu 8.04 is that I can't use an external monitor
any more. Something that worked in both 7.10 and 8.04 beta. I have tried
the default open source nv driver and System>Preferences>Screen
Resolution, and it sees that I have a sony external display, but
I tried to install firefox-dbg according to the web page, but there were no
firefox-3-dbg (I run firefox 3.0b5) in synaptics sources (Tell me how to
install the right dbg).
There is no new firefox crash file in /var/crash.
I use:
