Global Menus (appmenu, hud) is a flagship Ubuntu feature that needs
attention by product owners who care about this feature.

Hi, this is a long shot but the symptoms are the same. That is, Java
apps that used Global Menus working fine in 13.04 are now broken in

crash in org.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.OS._gtk

Not a crash per say, but some coordinated effort to fix global menus
that were working fine in 13.04. but must now be worked around setting
UBUNTU_MENUPROXY would be prudent.

* I disabled all Dash Plugins that queried external video sources.
* For over a week, two cached results would appear in Online results. Clicking
on these results led to a blank Dash dialogue.
* I was only able to remove these by doing: Security & Privacy -> Files &
Applications ->

I now see "unity-scope-zotero" in the Software Centre.

Uhhh, sorry, I don't think this bug belongs in 'light-themes'. I am
using Ambiance (Default) - Although switching themes when the problem
occurs (Radiance, High Contrast) does nothing IE the icon remains
missing until reboot.

"View Hidden FIles" is no longer an option in the Files menu. The option
was moved into the UI, triggered by clicking a down arrow; is no longer
accessible via HUD.

I even formatted the drive using Ubuntu 12.04 itself. That is, in Unity
Launcher on leftside, I right-clicked the drive icon and selected
Format. I did tests using both EXT4 and FAT32. Same results.

Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the

I "fix it" (if by "fix it" I mean driving around in a junker with a
piece of wood as the steering and two flat tires instead of, you know,
having a decent working car) by doing the following:

When I double+click on an XLS/XLSX/... file in Nautilus. The file is
opened correctly but the icon is invisible. (See attached screenshot)

Seems to work for me. I rebooted. I can mount my Windows partition. I
can browse the internal Windows network. Nothing seems broken.

In the title this bug says "and backport to 12.04 LTS" Programmers know
what *AND* means, right? ;) It's not conditional.
I read "Fix Released" but I can't find this in Ubuntu 12.04? How do I
request a backport?
