Yeah, I have to agree with #22 - my system isn't even dual-monitor, it's
a laptop with no other monitors attached. The NVIDIA gpu is the only
one in the system.

I can confirm, that works for me as well. I also didn't have a
raw.thumbnailer file, but creating it fixed the problem.
I notice there's thumbnailer entries in gconf, but they seem to be
ignored.

Weird...So I just resumed from suspend, expecting my desktop to be
corrupt like usual (I was using unity at the time)...but this time it
wasn't. When it came out of suspend, I saw the desktop come up
immediately, then fade out to the login screen (I did see corruption in
the top bar as it was fadi

unity, I don't think it has anything to do with the nvidia driver
itself.
At this point I've stopped using unity and only use gnome-shell.

Alright, I think we have a winner. This kernel correctly assigns the
device to the gyration driver like my patched version did.
I'm not home yet to test the actual buttons, but I'm confident they'll
work fine.

Just tested it -- doesn't seem to be fixed, the generic-usb driver takes
hold of it, and won't yield it to hid-gyration. As a result, the extra
buttons on my remote don't work. This is the same behavior as the
unpatched kernel.

I tried that, it didn't work for me for some reason. I got a mode
change immediately on kernel boot, but it was a corrupt screen. The
/etc changes made the screen come up clear again. Not sure how much of
that matters to this though. I guess my point is that using vesafb
should be an acceptable

* In /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf, comment out "blacklist
vesafb" and add "blacklist vga16fb"

Using Wireshark, I made a capture of what goes in/out of my network
device as I try to add a google calendar. What I expect to see is
traffic going out over the proxy to resolve the host and communicate
with it. What I see instead is queries to my work DNS server for
www.google.com, which return

and get it to find the authentication types, suggesting it was using the
proxy, but it wouldn't download folders or mail. No error, just
continuously trying to connect. I'm not sure if that's the proxy being

It is also an issue for me. Latest Jaunty updates are installed. Most
of the time, when I resume from suspend (either to RAM or from
hibernation), X throws the mentioned error and my keyboard no longer
responds until I restart it.
This is on a Toshiba Satellite A15-S127 laptop, Intel drivers.
