Public bug reported: I have no clue as to what happened here, but i had to install python2.5 as a dependancy for another package and after synaptic was done, first my X server took a crap, then i pressed alt+ctrl+F1 and loged in to shut down the server, i did sudo gdm stop and this did not work it
