cleared up. The server team did not change anything in the docs
relating to converting passwords to md5 (probably shouldn't be needed if
you're using smbpasswd)

I marked bug 521541 as a duplicate of this, which suggests using Gnome-
ppp as opposed to network-admin. If we update these docs for Lucid, I
expect this is the best place to start investigating options.

Thank you for your report Giuseppe. Documentation underwent a lot of
rework in 11.04, and the documents on backing up are completely
different now. We're not going to rewrite the documentation in 10.10 at
this point. Please don't hesitate to report any problems you run into
with current docs.

Since this report was filed we've moved to likewise-open 5.4, then to
