In post #45 i should have mentioned that the following should be set:
/org/gnome/desktop/applications/interface/menus-must-have-icons
true (default is false)
gtk-theme set to Adwaita or whatever you want
icon-theme set to Faenza-Ambiance or what ever you want
toolbar-icon-
Even though this is not relevant, i'll continue with my rant:
I also had to ensure that the compiz plugin gtk had been checked in ccsm at
least once.
The compiz plugin wallpaper had to be checked and set to be identical to the
wallpaper set in system settings otherwise the dash was always on the
I don't think the buttons for the theme appeared for my install until i
changed the following default setting in dconf-editor:
/org/gnome/desktop/applications/interface/buttons_have_iconstrue
(default is false)
screens
Don't know if it's related but i can have the following messages:
> /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ccm/Window.py:92: Warning:
g_object_set_qdata: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
> self.LeftPane.pack_start(page.LeftWidget, True, True)
> /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ccm/Window.py:95: W
This is in now way a scientific statement but i noticed when there is a
conflict between the wallpaper plugin and the system settings with
regard to the wallpaper being used, the errors:
(compiz:7240): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_fill: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF
(pixbuf)' failed
WARN 2011-10-
I'm no expert but i had some of the same .xsession-errors entries as in
post #24 including:
WARN 2011-10-19 09:17:27 unity.iconloader IconLoader.cpp:509 Unable to load
contents of
file:///usr/share/icons/unity-icon-theme/places/svg/category-installed.svg:
Error opening file: No such file or dir
I'm sure i was able to work around this issue by having compiz draw the
wallpaper by checking the plugin box in ccsm. Fglrx and compiz couldn't
seem to co-ordinate that well but when i got compiz to draw the wall
paper, the unity lenses were always on top when i pressed the super
button.
