Also there is no nvidia card in my NUC.
I'm about to update to 16.4 or 16.10 so I'm not sure how much help I can
be in the future with this bug but I'll report back if it still exists
after the update

I'm also effected by this bug. Similar to the original reporter I've
also upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 on a dell workstation (T-1600 in my
case) and the shutdown and restart buttons also don't have any effect
for me. I'll end up back on the desktop.
However I can shutdown by pressing the power but
Made a mistake in comment #6. It should have been 13.04 and not 12.04

The situation changed with LibreOffice 4.1.0.4.
It works now, but it is still useless for productive work.
LibreOffice now opens documents on an WebDav connection, but it asks for the
connection passowrd once per session.
So if you open this document, work with it, close it open another document
I guess I can confirm this bug also for LibreOffice 4.0.4.2 and for
owncloud instead of Alfresco.
I get:
General input/output error while accessing

Public bug reported:
The normal print dialog doesn't show the correct status for printers
instead it displays some random characters.
Firefox and Thunderbird show the correct status which in my case would

Printer 'Dell-5350dn-DKinvoice' has no toner left.
Printer 'Dell-5350dn-white' has no t
If I use reboot=pci for the kernel it works - as in I can reboot. :-)
So it works for me, but it still would be nice if this could somehow be
fixed to work out of the box on new installes.

Yes, it boots fine if I power cycle it when it hangs. Also when I use
shutdown and then turn it on again it works fine.
No update involved, it was always the case ever since I got this
machine.
Searching for "dell reboot" here on launchpad finds several bugs for
other Dell hardware. I'll try if t

When rebooting the system the hangs.
On the reboot screen with those points changing colour, the first three one
