I neglected to add that I had no problems with the exact same hardware
using edgy (2.6.17-11-generic). Switching between the two, edgy still
works, and feisty does not.

This was encountered in Edgy, using the official Ubuntu package, as

configurations that will trigger this bug (any dual-head config using
