I'm just wondering whether there is any progress on this issue. Unfortunately,
this bug makes the Ubuntu backup system unusable for the affected users,
leaving them without a backup of their data. So I believe this creates a
certain level of pressure of eventually fixing this. Thanks!

I can confirm the problem with the same graphics hardware. Extract from

The bug is still around in the Jaunty Release Candidate. It shows up
every time the user switches his session language. After his next login,
the category titles in gnome-app-install appear in the former language.

I can confirm this bug on my Samsung X20 laptop with i915 graphics chip
(see attachment lspci.txt). It sometimes resumes after disconnecting and
connecting the power cable and/or closing and opening lid.
Suspend/resume worked like a charme before upgrading to Gutsy.

system boot, the network devices are named eth2 and eth3, eth0 and eth1 don't
