The same happenes in gedit.
If I remove aspell-nb, the problem goes away.
Strace -f -F shows:

module, compiled from alsa-driver-hg20070808.tar.bz2 which i downloaded
at ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/alsa/snapshot/driver/

The binaries from mysql.com works fine for me. It's just the one in the
repos that is broken. Haven't tried to compile from source.
