I am not close to running out of space. I am seeing a drm gpu error when
I switch back. It blinks and is gone, and then I prompted by gdm to
login again, my entire X session is gone. Wayland also has a similar
problem, except the gdm never comes back. Everything is frozen.
I don't think the syslog
The syslog is a separate issue. I am seeing this, and then the syslog
history files are wiped.

I have since rebooted the machine. I will try to catch it again next

I ran a wireshark to see what happened when I pinged the hostname which
would inevitably fail, and I got nothing in wireshark. What I think is
happening and makes most sense is that the stub resolver is eating up my
DNS lookup and not forwarding it onto

If there isn't a root password, I don't think the system should ever
prompt the user for a root password. Check the web, tons of people find
this alarming and are convinced they are locked out of root. Whether it
makes sense or not, this is what people do experience and they are
reporting it on the

How can an ordinary user get a fix for this bug? I can't get any
