example in the Files application, some of the folder icons would be

Thanks all for completing the testing on this bug so that this and other

Mathieu, Thanks for fixing the bug. The recent release that included
this and other fixes for network manager corrected the "no signal"
issue with my Thinkpad T42. Thanks again.

Is there anyone who can test this so that the fix can be released for
this and the other three bugs? I would test this if I could. Any help

Mathieu, How can this be tested so that the other chages tied to the
same fix can be released? I've been waiting on the fix to bug #1035590,
which 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.2 has been confirmed to resolve. But the package
is being held up it seems because no testing has been completed for this

I can confirm that on my Thinkpad T42 (Intel 2200BG) I am also still
able to connect to the wifi wireless network even with the signal
strength applet showing dimmed out (zero strength). I noticed in the NM
applet drop down, my wireless network does not show as "connected", even
when I am connected
This happened to me today too. I did not happen before the upgrade to
kernel 3.2.0-29. I noticed that my wireless icon in the notification
area is also grayed out even though I am connected. Also noticed that my
wireless network name is not showing as connected under the "Wireless

Same issue here after upgrade from 3.2.0-27 to 3.2.0-29 using Thinkpad
T42. Reverting back to 3.2.0-27 also resolves issue for me.

Also having trouble after installing 3.2.0-29 (not low latency, just the
normal one). Something is not right. It failed during the install from
3.2.0-27 and told me that something was broken. I noticed that the
Network Manager icon was grayed out after the kernel install. I reverted
back to 3.2.0-2
Received lots of errors also installing latest kernel. Had to roll back
to 3.2.0-27.

The fix to this bug was included in the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS release. Ubuntu

Don't lose hope. I'm the one that filed the initial bug report. I was

I've posted the apport-collect data as requested. Please note that I ran
the command while logged into the laptop using the existing 11.10
install. I am not able to run the command in the 12.04 environment
because I am not able to boot from the 12.04 live usb iso. Hence the
need for the bug report.
