/etc/nsswitch.conf
I replaced a line from a other linux box

I think I run into the same error.
Ubuntu 19.04 used to run like a charm but since a recent update my laptop
starts up into a black screen with a blinking cursor. I can run 'startx' from
tty2 which will start an GUI. Which does not look like ubuntu but more similar
to a native gnome GUI.

There is *no* old version of dbgsym installed. When I try to install it:

install the binary nvidia drivers. Now that you mention it, it is not
impossible that these drivers came from a different ppa. I'm not 100% on

Yes, it works (had been running it for a few days now), but needed to download
a large file today and I noticed the speed dropped to +/- 100kbs, where,
switching to Andrés kernel, it have me +/- 700kbs (tried twice, same results,
nothing else changed).
Like I said, I don't know if it's something
I don't want to spoil the party, but the 4.11 kernel André provided
works (downloading large files-wise) far better than the 4.4 one Kai-
Heng prepared on my Ubuntu Xenial laptop connected to a TB16 docking
station. I can only hope I'm the only one though, so I'll be waiting for
a stable 4.13 relea

That's weird. Update Manager doesn't show any updates, but aptitude (and

I get similar messages, and I don't do domain authentication (that I
know of); samba is not installed. I'm on a fairly regular install:
single-user laptop, though I have a test user as well. Updated 14.04
install on x64. I use Unity.
I also get similar messages from compiz:

I can confirm this bug and have some additional information. When using
a device name as minor number (e.g. /dev/drbdX) drbdsetup gives a
correct error:
root@:~# drbdsetup new-minor r0 /dev/drbd0 0
root@:~# drbdsetup new-minor r0 /dev/drbd0 1
r0: Failure: (162) Invalid configuration reques
Printing works as usual, it's just the messages. I get a popup in the
top right corner, probably from apparmor-notify which I suspect I
installed by hand a long time ago. When I relogin, I seem to get a
notification that there have been apparmor violations.
