Public bug reported:
When network proxy settings change, the default values of http_proxy,
ftp_proxy, and https_proxy are not updated. New terminal sessions still
have the old proxy settings. To work around this, I have to manually
unset the variables every time I start a new terminal session.
I haven't seen this problem in 10.10.

I just hit a related issue when moving my home directory from one system

say "Waiting for sound system to respond". After deleting ~/.pulse and

Sorry, I don't have Lucid installed. I use Ubuntu for work, so I'd
rather not risk upgrading to a beta release. Maybe someone else that's
already running Lucid can try printing page 8 of the PDF that's attached

When I print the KQED program guide from March, 2010, the printing

I'd also like to see improved support of image compression when

Oops, I just realized that the terminology I used in my previous comment

does write the boot loader to the USB drive, but it overwrites the MBR

I don't remember seeing that option. Possible that I missed it. Even
if it's there, the installer should warn the user that he's about to
overwrite his boot loader, rendering the existing Windows installation
unable to boot.

Another vote for this one. I'm a pretty advanced user, and spent 5

Nautilus should definitely offer the option to confirm before moving or

would also be helpful
I hit this same problem with 7.1. The only way I found to avoid
overwriting the original MBR was to remove the internal drive in my
laptop while installing Ubuntu. I think this is a pretty serious bug,
especially because the user doesn't know his system won't boot until
it's too late.
