It seems this is the same bug for Dell XPS 15 as well. Not always, but
sometimes this happens either using the DA200 adapter (Type-C usb) or
direct HDMI. However, a related bug has been fixed (black screen)* so I

I found that you don't need to kill X to regain functionality of the
keyboard; just move to any virtual terminal (i.e; tty) using Fn+F# &
back toX on F7.

I'd also like to confirm this. I just realized this when attempting to
use the left-to-right & right-to-left buttons. They simply don't appear
in the formatting toolbar & do not appear when checked to be visible!
I am using LibreOffice Version 3.6.0.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:102)) on
Ubuntu 12.04.1
This also happens on my Dell Studio XPS 1640 laptop.
The only workaround that works for me is to close the lid to suspend &
repon it. Then the mouse works agian.
