I have this problem too. Clean Edgy install with all updates. Right after system start screensaver (GLMatix) works fine. But after first occurrence of 'monitor sleep mode' screensaver never shows - screen just fades (as usual) and goes completely black (bug). No screensaver appears. Temporary fix
