Smartmontools/smartd are logging to syslog. However, the LogFile
directive in /usr/share/logwatch/dist.conf/services/smartd.conf is
LogFile = messages
This causes smartd log entrie

much describes it. Packages with a higher version number (those in the
jaunty repository) will always have precedence. As there is no kdvi
package in the jaunty repository, the one from the intrepid repository
will be taken. So

I've got the same bahaviour as the previous poster. Openoffice looks
more KDE-like now and doesn't crash anymore on starting but the file
dialog integration is not working. Opening files via recent files works
- so it's got to be the filepicker integration.

A workaround which worked for me is:
I actually got it to work this way in KDE. In Dolphin, right-click the media,

I'm seeing the same problem also when starting kate e.g via the launcher
using Alt+F2.
Seems not to be a specific Kubuntu issue though - it's seems to appear

I got the same error message as in the initial post running Feisty
(after not having problems for months). After taking out /boot from the
LVM region and mounting it as a simple disk partition via /dev/evms/sda1
