Disregard my comment on Kubuntu. I simply forgot to edit /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base.conf. The sound works fine.

This may belong elsewhere, but installing any version of the 2.6.32
kernel causes my nb205's display to crash after resume. The sound
continues to work, but that isn't much use without a display.
Also, while the 2.6.32 kernel fixes sound under Ubuntu, it did work
under Kubuntu.

I went to your link, but you don't have packages available for the
ip2600 series.
cnijfilter-common_3.00-1janc1_i386.deb installed fine. I then tried to
install the ip2600 .deb from Canon, which had the same dependency error
as before.

I came to the same realization the other day. One possible solution
would be removing the Desktop bookmark. The folder would remain, but it
woudn't be visible under Files & Folders by default. Then, possibly, the
folder could be phased out in later Ubuntu Netbook Remix releases if a
real solution i
I can confirm that this bugs occurs as described, but that the fix
mentioned in #8 hasn't worked for me. I've tried deleting the sub-
categories and just un-checking them. I've had no luck with either
method.
