@benelgiac:
Perfomance for me with modeset=1 is excellent. No tearing or otherwise.
Note: I am using the nvidia 460 drivers. I have not tested on older

Oops - I don't know how that happened. As I was saying...
Regarding Clementine, as soon as you open the program go to Preferences
-> Behavior -> Uncheck "Show tray icon". This seems to fix the problem
for now.
I think whats happening is when we close the window it's closing to a
hidden tray ico

I've been using Ubuntu for a few years now, and using unity, I
constantly have to stop and think about how to open a new window.
Searching on forums to find the right keybinding is not an acceptable
solution for a new user.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 - is that the problem? I noticed I had to change
"python2" to "python" in /usr/local/bin/exaile
I installed exaile from the repos copied the exaile.desktop to another
location and removed the repo-exaile. Then I did a "make && make
install", and restored exaile.desktop
Could you give me some help on how to use/test your branch?
I've copied your branch, but when I run it (through the "exaile" script
or "python exaile.py") I get no sound menu integration.

I agree with Pavol. I recently wanted to post something to facebook,
and just remembered I could use the me menu rather than open my browser
and go to facebook etc.
I started typing, realised I had to erase the "post to", and spent some
time trying to select the text by mouse or double click. I
I'm updating this as confirmed as I am experiencing the exact same
issues with my BlackBerry Curve 8900. The m3u playlists created on the
BlackBerry have absolute paths - therefore Rythmbox and Banshee should
export playlists in the same fashion.
I will do the upstream reporting but I'm not sure

Can you walk us through what you did? I assume you just installed the
deb from http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/ I'm actually trying that
now.
Also, if you could run this: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh
and respond with the output, it would help a lot. Thank you!

I agree with both of you, and thank you: it does seem to be a STAC9205
problem. The Dell D830 is also effected by the same bug (also
STAC9205), maybe looking for workarounds with that model will help ours?
Anyway, I am going to mark that bug as a duplicate and then change the
title of our bug. A
